March 15, 2024 - Eureka, CA - The following is an overview of the Eureka City Schools Board of Education regular public meeting from Thursday, March 14, 2024.
- Students from Winzler Children's Center led the Pledge of Allegiance and presented the Board with a “Growing Each Day - Winzler Class of 2037” poster.
All items on the Consent Calendar were approved, except Item J(21) Approval of Partnership Between Humboldt County Office of Education and Eureka City Schools for the Golden State Pathways Grant, which was pulled from the agenda.
- Discussion/Action items were all approved and as follows:
- District to Adopt Initial District Proposal for the 2024-2027 Negotiations Between Eureka City Schools and the CSEA Redwood Chapter #88
- District to Adopt Initial District Proposal for the 2024-2027 Negotiations Between Eureka City Schools and the Eureka Teachers Association/CTA/NEA
- Consideration of Resolution 23-24-028 to Eliminate/Reduce Classified Positions
- Consideration of and Possible Action on Resolution 23-24-031 Regarding Certificated Reduction in Force (0.6 FTE Layoff)
- Approval of 2023-2024 Second Interim Report
- Certification of the 2022-2023 Audit Findings Corrective Plans and Recommendations
- Approval of Resolution No. 23-24-033: Committing Funds
- Resolution #23-24-032: Resolution to Transfer from General Fund 01 Committed Fund Balance Reserves to Special Reserve Fund for Capital Outlay Projects 40
